OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. -- Whether it’s a no-notice gate closure, weather delay or an on base emergency, AtHoc is the quickest way to be notified.
AtHoc is an interactive warning system that allows base leadership to inform base personnel of urgent information at a moment’s notice.
“The next time you’re logged onto a government computer, I strongly encourage you to click the AtHoc icon and access the self-service portion of the system,” said Col. Mark Howard, 55th Wing commander. “From there you can check to make sure your personal information is up-to-date, and you can add dependents so that they too are getting the information as it is released.”
Personnel should input or update their information in the system by providing home, cellular and emergency contact numbers and email addresses, according to their communication preferences.
Be advised that each field in which data is provided can be used for notifications, per the commander's discretion. Participants requesting text message alerts should know that they will not be reimbursed for any text messaging charges incurred.
“We promise to not spam anyone with irrelevant information,” Howard said.
In addition, Air Force Manual 10-206 requires all military and civilian personnel (bargaining/non-bargaining) and contract support personnel whose normal place of duty is on a Department of Defense installation or within a DoD facility to provide an after-hours contact number or personal email.
“Bottom line, we rely on AtHoc to get information out quickly and it is imperative that everyone is connected,” Howard said. “The safety and security of Team Offutt personnel and their family could not be more important, so please get connected with AtHoc.”
AtHoc is available on iPhone 5S and above, iOS 14, iOS 15, iOS 16, iPad, and Android phones that support OS 9 and above. However, the app will not run on Windows phones or Amazon Fire tablets.
